Payment Policy
The application fee is due at time of enrollment. Tuition for the first 4 weeks of classes is due the first day of class or upon the continuation of a contract. A late fee of $15 per week will be charged for any tuition more than 3 days late. Students with open balances are not allowed to re-enroll until all balances have been paid. All contracts for fewer than 4 weeks, private tutoring, and corporate courses must be paid in full before the first day of class.
Refund Policy
The $75.00 application fee is non-refundable unless ILI, MD is unable to place the student in the appropriate level. Fees for reimbursable services (SEVIS, express delivery, etc.) are non-refundable once the service is completed. A full tuition refund will be given if requested before the start date of the scheduled class(es) or if a prospective student has his/her visa application rejected. A full tuition refund will be made for payments made in advance if a class is canceled by ILI, MD. There is no discount or refund for days on which ILI in Maryland is closed because of holidays, bad weather, or other emergencies. A tuition refund will be given to a student who withdraws prior to the completion of the scheduled class. Early withdrawal notification has to be submitted by the last day of attendance. Unattended days prior to notification of withdrawal, up to a maximum of 4 weeks, will count as attended days. The regular weekly tuition rate (see table below) is used to calculate the amount of tuition retained for the weeks attended. Any portion of a week in attendance will be considered a full week of attendance for this purpose. Once received by the student, textbooks and other materials are the property of the student and are non-refundable. A refund will be made by check for all cash, check, or debit card payments and by credit card for all credit card payments within 30 days of the date of determination noted on the Refund Request form.

Private, semi-private, and special group classes cancelled by the student(s), including “no-shows“, may be made up only if notice is given by the student to ILI, MD either by phone (301) 527-0600 or by email to ili@ilimd.com at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled class(es) and by 9 am Friday for any class(es) held on Saturday, Sunday or Monday. If a student fails to cancel on time, full tuition must be paid for the missed class(es). Semi-private and small group classes have to be cancelled by all students enrolled in class, cancellation of just one student is not accepted and does not release that student from paying for the missed class. Classes should not be cancelled with the instructor.
Homestay: If a student cancels at least 1 week prior to the expected Homestay start date, no charges apply. Otherwise, a 1-week cancellation notice applies and $260 will be charged to the student. Active Homestay students wishing to withdraw after their initial 4 week period but before the scheduled end date of Homestay are required to give ILI at least a 1-week cancellation notice before their intended last day in Homestay. Only if a 1-week cancellation notice is given, any pro-rated prepayment of Homestay will be refunded. Refunds will be made by check for all cash, check or debit card payments and by credit card for all credit card payments within 30 days of leaving Homestay.
