Individual English instruction is available for students who want a more customized program. The instruction can be tailored to the student’s individual learning objectives and can emphasize one or more of the following: grammar, idioms, reading, speaking/pronunciation, vocabulary, writing, listing, or TOEFL test preparation. Instruction can take place at the student’s workplace, at home or at the Institute.
Private English Tutorials
A private English tutorial is the instruction of one student. The instruction can be designed to individual’s needs and goals. Each session is a minimum of 2 instructional hours. Meeting days, times and places can be flexible.

Semi-Private English Tutorials
A semi-private English tutorial is the simultaneous instruction of two students by one teacher. Both students need to be at the same level and follow the same curriculum which can be designed to meet the students’ needs and goals. Each session is a minimum of 2 instructional hours. Meeting days, times and places can be flexible.

Special Group Class
A special group class consists of three or more students on the same level who are instructed together. Often times, a special group class is arranged and paid for by an organization or an employer and takes place off-site. Each session is a minimum of 2 instructional hours. Special group classes usually follow a regular schedule.

Registration
All new students can apply either online at our Registration page, via our paper application or in person at the school. The minimum age is 14. Please indicate your preferred day(s) and times and learning objectives. Once we receive the application and payment of the $75 application fee, we will contact the prospective student to discuss his or her needs and goals.
Cancellation Policy
Please be advised that if a student needs to cancel a tutorial or class, he or she must do so at least 24 hours before the scheduled time (Friday by 9 am for any classes scheduled on Saturday, Sunday or Monday) to avoid paying for the tutorial or class. If a class is cancelled on time, it will be rescheduled based on availability of both the student(s) and instructor. Unused credits and prepaid classes will be forfeited six months after last attendance.
Travel Surcharges
Tutorials or classes can be held off-site. There is a $10 travel surcharge per session for classes held at any Gaithersburg address and a $16 travel surcharge per session for classes held outside of Gaithersburg and within 15 miles of ILI, MD.
